I was awakened by a phone call from a friend at 5am to see if I was alright. I said uhhh… errrr… I’m off today and don’t need to wake up until 7 to take my son to school. Well, shortly after that I had the t.v. on and found out what was really happening. I couldn’t believe how the wind was howling up to 79 mile per hour gusts as well as the cold temperatures and now this fire that started approximately at 12:30 a.m. According to officials it burned over 2ooo acres, an elderly man died having a heart attack in his home trying to get his things to evacuate. Many people had issues with smoke inhalation and there were firefighters with burns and smoke inhalation. My hats off to all the officials, rescue workers and firefighters that continue to battle this fire in these harsh conditions. Thank GOD the fire is getting a little snowfall on it tonight to help out.
